Wappamai means ritual dancing, holding wooden containers called Wappa in both hands, and is performed as a dedication to shrines, to pray for bountiful harvests. Children’s Wappamai is simplified, and performed by eleven children in elementary school as of 2017. The performance was well-received at the festival in the hamlet.
