Oe Town History Museum Supporter Organization

The Oe Town History Museum Supporter Organization was founded in 2008(20th year of Heisei period) with the goal of preserving the culture of blue ramie textiles. They have passed down tradition under the theme of “Aoso”. (blue ramie)
Blue ramie has been produced in Oe Town since the Edo period. The Organization holds events such as reaping blue ramie and workshops of Angin-method weaving and loom weaving. They also offer rice cakes containing blue ramie and other traditional dishes.
