The Aikai rice planting dance has a history that stretches back nearly 400 years in the Aikai area. Every year, the dance is performed on the first Sunday of June, moving from house to house.
Members ranging from 18 to 70 years old teach about twenty elementary school children at the community center.
These activities create inter-generational communication and vitalize the region.
Students who were taught the dance when they were elementary school students have now become successful Aikai rice planting dance members.
